The Lunch Clubs are fantastic. Students are reading. Students are writing. And all with a huge grin!
The Book Prize Club created journals this week to jot notes about their favorite Caldecott and Newbery selections. Construction paper and staples go a very long way! Each visit, students will respond to the art in a Caldecott runner, and respond to the text in their Newbery runners as they complete reading them.
In the Book Arts Club, we just finished the front and back covers of a book that we will sew together using yarn and plastic needles. We will use a very simple style to start. As students become more comfortable, they will be able to branch out.
The love of literature, those who create it, and creating it ourselves is celebrated weekly not only in these clubs, but also in the PV library!
