Fifth Grade students in the lunch club will receive their own copy of the Newbery Award Winner MERCI SUAREZ CHANGES GEARS by Meg Medina. We will spend time reading and discussing this great book over the next three months.
In the Fourth Grade, the new Graphic Novels lunch club has launched! In this club, we will discuss the format of the graphic novel, their merits, and students will begin to create their own graphic novel.
All lunch clubs meet on C and D days in the library. Students sign up based on interest!
Tuesday, we held our first Graphic Novel Club meeting! We discussed what constitutes a graphic novel, how parents feel about graphic novels, and we read Liniers GOOD NIGHT PLANET. We discussed the advantages of the plot being told with images and spare dialogue. I look forward to our next meeting where we'll learn strategies to teach our parents that Graphic Novels are real books!
